Utilizing MentorNet at Your Institution!

MentorNet is a national e-mentoring program which matches proteges with a mentor from industry, government agencies, or from educational institutions.  Proteges and mentors communicate via email over an 8 month period.

Minnesota State Colleges and Universities has purchased a one-year subscription to MentorNet.  All institutions can utilize this service.  Once institutions have signed up, their students can sign up for the one-on-one mentoring program, post their resumes, and more.  If your institution has not signed up, please contact Brenda Lyseng.

Primary Contact and Recruiting Partners
Each institution has 2 different types of 'administrators' of their MentorNet program. The Primary Contact is the person that was listed on your participation agreement.  The person is often an administrator such as a STEM dean that will take on the broad task of implementing MentorNet on campus.  Recruiting Partners are those people that will help the primary contact recruit students (and faculty) into the program.  Suggestions include other STEM deans, department chairs, career center staff, advisors, tutoring staff, etc.  Both the Primary Contact and the Recruiting Partners will get emails from MentorNet and Brenda Lyseng to help you in your roles.  Each campus has a password to log in - please share with the recruiting partners.

  • Add recruiting partners by logging in to www.mentornet.net.
  • Update the college profile.
  • Send Brenda Lyseng updated list and email of primary contact and recruiting partners.
